Ageing

Getting old shouldn’t be a trial
It’s in the mind all the while

It comes with time to us all
No longer able to stand as tall

Bones shrinking as if overnight
Look after yourself with all your might

It doesn’t have to the trauma it appears to be
Accept your ageing more gracefully

Be who you are with pride
Don’t ever your age try to hide

You’ve served ‘your time’ in this life
Proved your worth as husband or wife

Now enjoy the time that for you remains
And Pray to God you keep your wits and your brain!
