Your Dad

Your Dad was but a man
Tried to do all he can
Even when the going was rough
He tried to act the man by being tough

Life dealt him several blows
Making him act as if life itself owes
When all he wanted was a peaceful life
He felt his life was full of strife

He wanted to be a good Dad
Life for him wasn’t all bad
He loved his boys’ but could not always show
His love for them so that they would know

He didn’t show his feelings well
Now it’s too late to tell
But in his thoughts of love for you
He was so proud of his sons and all you do

Always learn from your Dad’s mistakes
Tell your children no matter what it takes
That you love them and are grateful for all they do
They need to know they matter especially to you
