A Thought

 
No longer a wife but a partner I am
To those who would look down on me I really don’t give a damn
 
I’m happier now that I have my life back
Being married wasn’t all it should and a lot it did lack
 
All good things come to those who wait
But take my advice and don’t leave it too late
 
Take your life in hand and do, as you will
Letting it slide can make you so very ill
 
Regrets and remorse are such unworthy thoughts
So get yourself out there and do what you ought
 
Make yourself ready and let your hair down
Don’t walk around with a permanent frown
 
Put your glad rags on and go out with a smile
Who knows what will happen once in a while
 
Look to the future with peace in your heart
And in this world for you there is surely a part
